FORTHCOMING FRIENDS’ EVENTS
Apple Day – Sunday 13th October 2024, from 2 – 4.30pm
Join the Friends of Milton’s Cottage for Apple Day – the national celebration of apples and orchards.
The humble apple plays a starring role in Paradise Lost, which Milton completed at Milton’s Cottage, and this annual event is a chance to make juice from our fallen apples, sample some regional ciders and explore our garden – planted with trees, flowers and fruits that are referenced in Milton’s poetry.
Apple Day is free, with no need to book, and is suitable for all ages.
14th Annual Milton Lecture – Wednesday 2nd April 2025, from 6pm
We’re delighted to announce that the guest lecturer for our 2025 Annual Milton Lecture will be Tamsin Lewis – a musician, composer and historian with extensive experience as an early music specialist and historical consultant for film, television, radio and theatre. Her talk on Milton and Music will be accompanied by live music excerpts and will take place in the magnificent setting of Mercers’ Hall once more.
Booking information will be announced soon.
